Starting point

The challenge

A generational shift in how people work, inside a regulated large organisation, where the technology is only half the job.

Skype for Business at end of life

Communication and telephony had to move to Microsoft Teams and the cloud, without disrupting the day-to-day running of a bank.

From the network drive to the cloud

Collaboration through teams and channels, file management in OneDrive and SharePoint, a new working logic for thousands of employees.

A regulated context

Exacting requirements for security and confidentiality, very mixed levels of experience, and the realisation that licences alone change nobody's way of working.

Approach

A joined-up enablement ecosystem

Not a one-off training, but support that grew over years, from live sessions to self-service on the intranet.

Live training

89 sessions delivered with 1,126 attendances, from getting started with Teams through channel structure to the digital workplace.

E-learning

2,929 attendances across a modular learning series, from creating teams and file management to Copilot advanced features.

Tailored user guides

Step-by-step user guides, matched to the real processes and roles inside the organisation.

Digital workplace hub on the intranet

One central place with current updates from the project team and all the material employees need.

Digital workplace blog

Regular tips & tricks that bring new features into everyday work in small, easy steps.

Champions community

Building and supporting internal ambassadors who carry the knowledge into every corner of the organisation and make adoption stick.

Departmental consulting

Tailored advice for a wide range of business units on their concrete use cases.

3rd-level support

A point of contact for the tricky cases, close to the people using the tools, with a short line to the project team.

Copilot hub & learning path

A Copilot hub on the intranet with user guides and tips & tricks, plus a new, structured Copilot learning path (in progress).

The journey

From Teams chat to Copilot

A four-year journey, step by step, without disrupting operations.

  1. 2022 Starting with Teams chat

Replacing the Skype for Business functionality, with a lot of training on Teams chat as the first step into the new world.

  2. ↓ Cloud-based collaboration

Teams and channels as the place of work, structured collaboration instead of email ping-pong, embedded through training, e-learning and champions.

  3. ↓ Modern file management

The move to OneDrive and SharePoint including migration. By far the largest module, it alone reached 1,168 attendances.

  4. 2026 Copilot & further M365 capability

Introducing Copilot Chat and M365 Copilot, supported by the learning path and the Copilot hub. The next adoption step is under way.

Skype for Business fully replaced

The technology change to Microsoft Teams is complete, communication and collaboration run in the cloud.

Cloud-based collaboration embedded

Teams, channels, OneDrive and SharePoint have arrived in everyday work, not just licensed, but actually used.

Copilot rollout started

Copilot Chat is live and M365 Copilot (Premium) is in use with several hundred employees. Adoption is being built up deliberately through the learning path and the hub.

Modernisation continues

More than 50% of fixed-line telephony has moved to Teams, and the rollout of corporate laptops is in full swing.
